Cyber cafe

I wrote this n3 kat one of the cc near my house. Streamyx line was no longer available at my parents house. I'm not at this cc semata2 utk write this blog tapi I did some office work tadi so terpaksa la keluar cari cc, tapi since belum cukup time utk keluar, I use this opportunity utk jot down something..tgn dh gatal nak menaip. My Ifah tgh duduk kt sebelah ni hah..dah berzaman tak masuk cc, nak masuk pun mcm takut2 je...hehehhe..rasa mcm terlalu tua la nak masuk cc.
Anyway, I got a lot of urusan to be settled before I balik KL semula..and after that I will not into blogging world for 2 weeks coz I'm gonna off to Makkah to perform my UMRAH with my dear husband. Wish me luck ok.
I'll update all the stories lepas balik nanti which would be around mid of June. I'll leave my kids to my parents and to all their uncles and aunties to take care of. Hope they will be in good conditions, healthy, well behaved and dont cry2 ok...plus I also wish my parents and all of my children's guardians pun sihal walafiat and happy menjaga mereka nanti. Semoga diberkati Allah segala keprihatinan mak, abah, abang, kak nurul, kodaiyo, ina, and M terhadap anak2ku....thank you very2 much...not to forget for those yg mendoakan kesejahteraan dan keselamatan kami esp, Zura,  kak Ana, Kak Ayu, Abg Nang, not to my boss and frens...Sampai ketemu lagi ya..chiow!!!

Oatmeal Cookies


Last 2 days buat oatmeal cookies ni utk Ifah bagi for her teachers utk Teachers' Day hari ni..dah siap2 packing tup2 hari ni tak jadi la pulak dia pi sekolah..aka ponteng le tu. Mummy yg mintak dia ponteng coz we all akan balik kampung hari ni and me myself so busy kat office, utk siapkan tender. Arrrgghhh!!!!hehehehe..tension le ni kesahnya..tapi tak pe ku redha dgn ketentuanNya.
Sudahnya the oatmeal cookies yang dah ku pack2 itu kami sedekahkan le kat budak2 ofis ni. I'm too lazy to write the ingredients, I just copy paste direct from the page.
The recipe adopted from Joy of baking
1 cup (110 grams) walnuts or pecans, toasted and chopped (optional)
3/4 cup (170 grams) unsalted
butter, room temperature
1 cup (215 grams) light brown
sugar
1 large
egg
1 teaspoon pure
vanilla extract
3/4 cup (105 grams) all purpose
flour
1/2 teaspoon
baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 cups (260 grams) old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup dried
cranberries, cherries, or raisins or 1 cup white or dark chocolate chips
In the bowl of your electric mixer (or with a hand mixer), cream the butter and sugar until creamy and smooth (about 2 - 3 minutes). Add the egg and vanilla extract and beat to combine. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon. Add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture and beat until incorporated. Stir in the nuts, oats, and dried cranberries or chocolate chips.
For large cookies, use 1/4 cup of batter (I like to use an ice cream scoop) and space the cookies about 2 inches (5 cm) apart on the baking sheet. Then wet your hand and flatten the cookies slightly with your fingers so they are about 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) thick. Bake the cookies for about 12 - 15 minutes at 350 degrees F (177 degrees C), or until light golden brown around the edges but still soft and a little wet in the centers. Remove from oven and let the cookies cool a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool.
Makes about 20 - 24 large

Pick & Brew Cafe

Hari ni lunch kat luar lagi. Ye lah my Sr. Mgr kan nak resign, so we all need to see our customers so that nanti transition of work jadi smooth la kan. So, within this week, memang hari2 lah we all lunch kat luar...yesterday we had Japanese food kt Concorde Shah Alam tapi segan nak la bergambar coz makan dgn all bosses..hari ni ok sket sebab dah kenal2 dgn the team.
Hari ni we all makan kat cafe which attach dgn CNI Headquarters- Pick & Brew Cafe, Glenmarie Shah Alam. Memang recommended sangat for you guys to try. Food- Yummy, Presentation- Cooooollll. Environment- cosy, Price- Reasonable.
Range of food dari asian ke western tapi banyak western food la. The beverages mostly coffee tapi banyak sangat selection of coffee kat sini plus the juices and frappe. Berpuluh2 menu utk beverages. Ada cakes, muffins and brulee as dessert or for those yg tak nak makan main course. Tak mau cakap banyak, tgk je la pics kat bawah ni yea..

Kopi Kaw Kluang Station, Kluang, Johor

Semalam, my ofismate bagi sepeket kopi dan sebotol kaya yg famouss kat Kluang- Kluang Rail Coffee. Dia ada 2 jenis satu yg serbuk dan satu lagi yg dalam bentuk sachet seperti gambar kat bawah ni.
Family kecik macam kitorang ni tak boleh beli yg serbuk2 gitu, nanti kang masuk angin, keras la pulak. Rugi je kan.
Balik malam tadi terus buat kopi servekan dgn cawan kopitiam I tu le...2 sachets aku pakai nak kasi kaw punya pasal..ingatkan lepas minum terbeliak la bijik mata tapi pukui 9 mlm mata dah ngantuk..agaknya kandungan caffein dia rendah kot. tak lut mata teman ni hah!!!
aduuuuiiiiiiii sedap tak terhengga...Betul2 KAW!!!!!and rasanya lain sangat dgn instant coffee.
Hat bawah ni pulak sebotol kaya pun dari kedai yg sama. Sesapa yg singgah ke Kluang tu, berkunjungla ke Kluang Station- Railway Station ye..jgn p stesen bas pulak soheh tak jumpa. Dah lama tau kopitiam ni wujud kat Stesen Ketapi tu, semenjak 1938 lagi..Oleh itu, pi la try pekena..minum tanpa was- was kerana owners are Muslim..

Roti Telur Special

Lately, me and my husband dah jarang sangat makan nasi for dinner...agaknya sebab faktor umur kot..dak pun sebab wife dia ni dah kembang semangkuk..kiranya tak lalu makan nasik tu as a hint la suruh aku ghentikan makan tu ye...ahaks..ahaks..ahaks...ape2 pun mmg le I dah kurang selera makan nasik nih..even di waktu siang, beras kat rumah tu pun dah nk keluar bubuk.
Since no nasi, he asked me utk buat Roti Telur, kalau dulu2 main buat sebasic2nya je..pukul telur, celup roti dlm telur then bubuh kat pan biar sampai masak. Tapi sejak masak ikut style my mother, my husband pun dah macam tak lalu nak makan yg basic roti telur tu..cewah2..mengade la tu kanna..Anyway, sebagai isteri solehah kuturutkan jugaklah permintaan yg tak la sebesar mana tu kan...So, my extraordinare Roti Telur yg kenkononnya special tu adalah seperti gambaq kat bawah ni hah...
I'm using 3 biji telur utk 6 keping roti.
Sedikit daun bawang dan daun sup
Sedikit bawang yg di hiris
*Pukul semua sekali
Margerin utk mengoles pan
Mozarella cheese
Mayonis
Sos Cili
1. Celup roti dalam adunan telur, kendian masukkan margerin dlm kuali or pan, biar cair then letak la roti yg dah dicelup depan belakang..pastikan daun bawang, daun sup and bawang tu melekat kt roti tu ye..kalau suka boleh jugak potong cili merah or capsicum utk menambahkan warna (tapi malam tadi tk de cili so tk bubuh la)..
2. Biarkan masak telurnya tu then terbalikkan. Masak 2 keping sekali harung.
3. Taburkan mozarella cheese kat sebelah atasnya then roti yg sekeping lagi tu letakkan mayonis dan sos cili sambil bhgn bawahnya masak (nak senang pakai bekas sos tu, picit je)
4. Then, topkan bhgn yg bermayonis tu ke atas bhgn roti yg ada mozarella. Balik2kan dan biarkan cheese tu mencair..angkat dan hidang.

Cherry!

Dah lama dulu kat n3 LG of Salam2Benua dia ada story about cherries yg tgh murah kat Perth. Wahhh rasa mcm teringin sangat nak makan. Kat sini mahal nye lah aii..kalau sekilo dah RM79.00..mmg kategori luxurious fruit nih. Baru2 ni kat satu kedai buah yg mmg menjual buah semata2 dlm sebuah shopping mall kat Shah Alam, aku pun dgn rela hati mengeluarkan sejumlah duit semata2 utk mengurangkan rasa "ngences" aku nih terhadap buah cherry yg fresh tu. Beli le sikit. Rasanya..wahhhh manisnya...best sgt. Ifah memula tak makan coz dia dh pernah rasa cherries yg dlm syrup, mmg tak berapa sedap la kan, tapi tgk sophie makan macam syok je..lama2 dia pun try..katanya.."Hmmm sedap la Mummy"..haaaaa kan Mummy dah kata mmg best.

Cucur Udang

Our dinner last Friday. Simple tapi mengenyangkan. I used udang yg size L besar2 sikit kan. Sebabkan udang tu still fresh bila makan waduhh sedapnya..manis sekali you..adunan tak de yg special coz i just buat mcm buat cekodok tpg je pun cuma tambahkan udang and daun kuchai..cicah sos cili, served dgn timun.

Pajeri Nanas (Pineapple Pacheri)

Lama sungguh tak masak pajeri. Bila dah datang teringin tu wajib la masak. I cooked this yesterday, tak sangka pulak my PIL and husband suka makan pajeri ni. I cooked based on my mom's recipe. I think semua org utara masak macam ni kot, tapi kat area selangor ni style masakan lain sikit kan...tak pakai kerisik.

My ingredients:
1 biji nanas- di hiris bulat atau ikut suka tukang masak
5-7 ulas bawang merah
3 ulas bawang putih
11/2 inci halia
GENG 3 sekawan- kulit kayu manis, bunga cengkih dan bunga lawang
Sepeket kecil udang kering- di rendam
* Tumbuk bhn2 diatas EXCEPT nanas hingga lumat.
Daun kari
1 peket kecil serbuk kari daging
Santan dari 1 bj kelapa- 2 kali perah je tau.
2sdb kerisik
Garam & Gula

Cara membuatnya:
1. Tumis bahan2 yg di tumbuk tadi dgn geng 3 sekawan dan daun kari hingga wangi.
2. Masukkan rempah kari yg telah dijadikan pes. Bila dah pecah minyak masukkan santan biar mendidih.
3. Kemudian masukkan nanas, garam dan gula- gula kene lebih sikit sebab pajeri ni harus manis tp secukup rasa. Then masukkan kerisik. Kalau suka boleh masukkan pati ikan bilis atau ayam.
4. Biar memekat dan tutup api.
Pajeri ni sedap di makan dgn nasi panas, tuang kuah merata ke nasi then bubuh kicap sket padankan dgn ikan masin jeruk mcm pekasam ke, ikan gelama masam ke, ikan talang masam ke, gaul sekali dgn sambal belacan..perghhhhhhh!!!!

Kek Lumut (can we call it as Algae Cake???)

Last Friday, inside my mind I wanted to bake something; either bread or cake. So, dalam dok browse thru' the net, finally I decided to try Kek Lumut- it's a steam cake. I have all the ingredients at home. I've seen a lot of people give a positive comments on this recipe so I wanted to give myself a try. I downloaded the recipe from Myresipi.com
The Ingredients:
225g butter
100gm caster sugar
* Beat until creamy.
Beat in 5 eggs one by one
Then, fold in 200g of horlicks, 1tsp vanilla essence, 150g kaya and 200ml evaporated milk. Finally fold in 250gm of self rising flour and 2 tsp of green colouring.
Steam for 4 hours.

It was after I lifted the steamer cover. Looks so fluffy before I cut it but I found out that its quite dry. If I used a better quality of butter, the texture could be more moist. Its ok then, maybe I'll try again next time.

I miss my kitchen...I miss my oven soooooo much!!!!

It's been a week i haven't cook anything except boiling some water....urghhh my life seems so miserable.....i couldn't take it anymore....i need to make some calls to Mr Pots, Mrs Pans, Miss Oven and Miss Remekin as we are not keep in touch for quite sometimes..Maybe they miss me so much or maybe they hate me so much. If they miss me so much then they should be very happy when I call them up for duty tonight, if not they will pray for me to be as lazy as a donkey..

Dinner@Ani Sup Utara

I'm quite busy this week coz my doter is having her mid term exam this whole week until next Tuesday. So, we ate outside to save time and moreover because my husband was away from home. I save my time cooking to do revision with my 6 yo doter. Yesterday, we have our dinner at this food outlet...ANI SUP UTARA. A food outlet which specialised in serving all kinds of soup in Northern style (North of Malaysia). This outlet is one from quite a number of franchise outlet which scattered around Shah Alam. I heard the franchisor also had spread the wings to China. Well done!! Yesterday we were not having any soup dishes but we just have nasi lemak & Otak- Otak Johor style- for all you know "Nasi Lemak" is Malaysia's icon for the most consumable breakfast through out Malaysia other than Roti Canai...All races including foreigners love to eat nasi lemak as their breakfast meal. For me, nasi lemak served at this food outlet really reminds me of our good old days..way back to 80s. I always refer to this kind of Nasi Lemak as "Nasi Lemak Kampung" or can be translated as Nasi Lemak Village Style. Why I said like that?..Owh its because of its aroma, the taste & texture of the rice and its sambal. Really reminds me during those of the days.

Anyway, we have our meals at Ani Sup Utara, Seksyen 9, Shah Alam. Its far more better than before since it has become a franchised brand, the owner had improve the ambience of the restaurant. Its more cosy and relax. I like the new look of "Ani Sup Utara". Hey try out yourself kay...rated 4 stars!!

Mini Celebration@Secret Recipe, Seksyen 9

I call it mini celebration coz its only 3 of us with a slice of cake chosen by the birthday girl. I have no idea where am I supposed to bring my first doter for her birthday celebration yesterday actually but since I wanted to purchase a slice of cake I think its better for us to dine at Secret Recipe cafe- cake and dinner all in one...
My doter chose Chocolate Indulgence- I only bought one slice which more than enough for 3 of us actually. The birthday girl wanted to eat rice, so as we flipped the menu I ordered Chicken Kebab and Iced Caramel Macchiato. Hmmm..sounds like so mouth watering.
While waiting for the chicken kebab, we were served with Tapioca Chips (both my kids didn't like it). It taste like "Opak" which can easily be found in Perak, or whenever you use the North- South PLUS Hiway, you still can purchase them at any stall which sell snacks but it'll be in a larger size than below:
When the chicken kebab arrived, owh it seems that I lost my appetite. Hana just ate the rice three times then she stopped eating coz she said the chicken was not really nice. Yea..I felt the same thing and if I just wanted to compare the price with what it taste owhh its just not so reasonable. The chicken so dry and it got a very strong taste of oregano. The rice also dried up. What I can say, the food was tasteless. Same goes to the Iced Caramel Mochiaato- our drinks of the day, the name so elegant but the taste..urgggghhhhh..I think Kluang Station Iced Coffee is far more better with far more cheaper. For me, when I eat outside the price I pay must commensurate with the taste. I think SR must do something to enhance its image and to strengthen its position eventhough you had expand in 7 countries it doesn't mean that you have to stop from doing your R&D and improvement in the taste and food presentation. So, our yesterday's celebration was not so happening but my Lil' Sophie still happy. Hana said its better to eat at Upin & Ipin's rather at this place...Opps..my rating for Secret Recipe is 3stars for the cake and no rating for the other food.

Happy Birthday Zarrifahana!!! You Will Turn 6

Zarrifa Hana bt Zamri you'll turn 6 at 8.01pm tonite. Happy Birthday my dear...Mummy actually very proud of you, I want you to be strong, stay positive and be good. Don't easily give up on things dear...Our love for you will never ends till the last of our breathe. Mummy still remember vividly when I gave birth to you and how good you were when you were small. You never cried at nights without reason. So easy to bring you anywhere. Hmm..time runs very fast and look at you now, you're so grown up..in five years time you'll become a teenager. Mummy just wish we can be as good as your friends could be so that we can exchange our sweet and bad times together forever. Happy Birthday sayang
